Coffee+Community+Crêpes=The Peekskill Coffee House

Where can you go on a frigid winter night to enjoy a fabulous latte, a scrumptious crêpe, and live music? I only know one place, and it’s the Peekskill Coffee House, lovingly known as “Peekskill’s Living Room”.

Established in 2003 by owner Sunny Cover, Peekskill Coffee House has become a staple of the city. “Our location in the heart of downtown blends small town charm with hipster chic, creating a vibrant yet cozy ambiance that would make anyone feel right at home,” says Cover.

Coffee bean bags hang from the tin ceiling, vintage art fills the walls, mismatched 50’s tables and comfy sofas invite you to sit and relax. Another bonus is that the Paramount Theater is only a block away.

The Peekskill Coffee House offers a wide selection of fresh, made-to-order sweet and savory crêpes, Belgium waffles, panini and salads. All crêpe and waffle batters are made in the shop. Gluten-free crêpes and lots of vegetarian options are also available!

Their special crêpe recipe uses local Battenkill Valley milk and Hemlock Hills farm fresh eggs. Some of my favorite crêpes include the American Pie (oven baked apples, cinnamon, wanluts, carmel and vanilla ice cream) and the Emilia (procuitto, fig and goat cheese).

I’m addicted to their Port Authority Panini (overflowing with portobello mushrooms, olive tapenade, goat cheese, tomato and arugula). The Piggly Wiggly is another crowd favorite because it is stuffed with ham and fontina cheese.

Their Arabica Coffee is roasted to perfection, and every week they highlight a new selection of single origin coffees and blends. All of their coffee selections are available for purchase and ground on request. They proudly offer Numi’s Organic teas, Barry’s Irish Breakfast, and Yerba Mate.

Their menu is rounded out with a great selection of pastries (bagels, croissants, muffins, scones, biscotti, brownies, cookies), build-your-own salads, frappes and 100% fruit smoothies.

Recent awards include winning Westchester’s BEST TRIVIA NIGHT, and making the list of the 10 BEST COFFEE SHOPS FOR WRITERS by Writers, Ramblers & Reads. “Such an honor to be a part of this list of 10 Coffee Shops from across the United States! We love our customers!” says Cover.
