Ahhhh, fall in the Hudson Valley. It’s always a very special time indeed - Leaves changing color, days getting shorter, apple picking, pumpkin picking and Hogtoberfest!
Yes, Columbus Day Weekend, Hogtoberfest is hitting the Hudson Valley on October 12th. In celebration of the 5th Annual Bacon Bash, Hogtoberfest will bring together the best of three worlds, Bacon, BBQ and German food.
This is a family friendly event that promises lots of food and fun held at the scenic Orange County Farmer’s Museum in Montgomery.
Hogtoberfest will feature 50% Bacon Bash and 50% Oktoberfest. For the past 4 years crowds have gathered at Museum Village in Montegomery for Bacon Bash where it “everything bacon” is on the menu.
Bacon wrapped meatballs, bacon on a stick, a flight of bacon, bacon mac n cheese, bacon ice cream, maple bacon, …you get the idea. This year the event really goes verruckt (crazy in German) adding German food vendors to the list. Which means there will also be kielbasa, giant German pretzel, schnitzel, potato pancakes and brats.
Let’s not forget the beverages. You will be able to wash it all down with a cold Spatan or a Sam Adams Oktoberfest, cider or even an icy cold glass of fresh squeezed lemonade.
Because it is Hogtoberfest, they are going hog wild—adding pulled pork and ribs to the mix. There is even an amateur cooking competition which if you are a pit master may want to get in on. There are three ticket options. Kids under 12 are free.
General Admission Ticket: $10 Includes entry into event at 1:00pm. Enjoy access to all vendors and music and all non-bacon tastings.
Hogtoberfest Brew Ticket: $35 Includes early entry into event at noon. Access to event and live music, 3 jumbo German/craft brews or a souvenir cup. You must be at least 21 years old to purchase this ticket.
VIP Ticket: $89 Includes early access to event at 11:30 am. Access to event and live music, BBQ + hog buffet with German fixings, plus 4 jumbo German/Craft brews or cider and an official Hogtoberfest glass. VIP section includes access to private VIP tent with seating and VIP bathrooms. You must be at least 21 years old to purchase this ticket.
