This holiday season, Angry Orchard is teaming up with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley to help feed the local community. Food insecurity is at a record high in America due to the pandemic and it has hit our Hudson Valley hard.
In an effort to help raise money, Angry Orchard has come up with a delicious program.
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, which provides food assistance to nonprofit organizations combatting hunger in the Hudson Valley, has reported a 53 percent increase in the amount of people they serve needing assistance. As you can imagine, the increased demand has place a huge a strain on the food bank financially, as they struggle to keep soup kitchens and pantries stocked.
That is where Angry Orchards comes in. From November 9 through December 31, 2020, Angry Orchards will be donating $2.00 from each bottle of Albany Post cider sold to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. They will also be matching that donation up to $2,000* (see note below). Wow!
Albany Post cider has special significance, as it is the first cider they made from apples that were grown 100% on-site. The cider is sold in 750 bottles and is a celebration of community and the members who actually came out and help harvest apples.
If that weren't enough, Angry Orchard is also implementing a ‘Can-for-Can’ program, where anyone can stop off and drop off nonperishable items and receive 10% off a canned cider to-go purchase. Can-for-Can will run through through December 31, 2020. Seems like a win-win to me, because who doesn't like drinking for a good cause?
